Mahesh Babu has joined hands with Heal-a-Child foundation, a charitable trust & non-profit organisation, which helps children who cannot afford medical expenses. The four year old organization has reached out to hundreds of children and their families, who were in need of financial support, over the past few months. Several hospitals and corporate companies have come out in support of this foundation for the noble cause. Now, Mahesh Babu has come onboard as their Goodwill Ambassador. He’s likely to take part in several initiatives to raise funds in the near future.
Earlier this year, Mahesh Babu sang a poem in support of MARD, an initiative by Farhan Akthar urging men to stop discrimination and rape on the basis of gender. In mid 2012, Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata decided to support CordLife India to create awareness about the importance of cord blood, which has a rich source of stem cells. Over the past few years, he has been quite active in terms of endorsing big brands and it’s great to see him come forth to support such noble causes too. Meanwhile, the actor is busy wrapping up his upcoming film 1, which is being directed by Sukumar. The film is going to hit the screens in January, 2014 and he’ll soon begin shooting for Sreenu Vaitla’s Aagadu
